Black-shouldered kites

The Black-shouldered Kites are quite active at the moment, and are taking advantage of the high number of mice in the fields. I have been watching a lovely pair hunting for mice, hovering on silent wings then swooping down to snatch their prey.

Often the male will offer his catch to the female, and transfer it to her mid-flight.
